The Brief: The Greyhound, one of London's oldest pubs, needed a complete transformation after being rebuilt. The new owner wanted to reposition from a tired local into a thriving, modern Gastropub while respecting the pubs Victorian heritage.

KEY CHALLENGES...

• Design and build private function rooms upstairs to create an additional revenue stream

We opened up the ground floor to improve the flow between the bar and dining areas, creating a more welcoming and spacious feel. This also helped the staff manage customer flow.

• Custom copper bar top: This beautiful feature became the centerpiece of our design.

• Industrial lighting: Modern ceiling pendants were added to complement the period architecture.

• Bespoke window frames: The pub had huge windows which we accentuated with custom, designed and built frames

• Introduced Booth Seating: This helped maximize covers while creating a more intimate dining space.

• Material palette: Exposed brick, copper accents, dark woods for warmth.

• Lighting Design: Layered lighting for different times of day

RESULTS...​

Once completed the pub was successfully re-positioned as a destination Gastropub and went on to smash all expectations and targets. Two years after completion the pub was purchased by the Mosaic Group after the owners were presented with an offer they simply couldn't refuse.

Type: Full design, renovation and re-brand

The Brief: The existing venue Cafe Crema was an under performing coffee shop in an excellent location. We were hired to create an alternative concept that would increase visibility and revenue. 

We created a vibrant Mexican cantina, Cafe Chula with extended hours and a license to sell alcohol.

• Maximizing seating in a small space

We redesigned the entire floor plan, incorporating bench seating against every wall. This tripled seating capacity. We wanted the space to look and feel as authentic as possible so we sourced tiles from Mexico.

• We added texture and character with Venetian plastered walls

• We installed a feature wall of distressed mirrors

• New lighting scheme made up of vintage chandeliers and ceiling pendants over the bar.

RESULTS...​

Once completed the space became a London destination attracting celebrity regulars such as movie director Tim Burton and Yotam Ottolenghi. Revenue increased from 4k to 20k a week.

Location: Camden Town, London

Type: Full design, renovation and re-brand

The Brief: Lockside was an established bar with good revenue but the owners wanted to expand the food offering, modernize the interior and branding and improve the sound system.

Our first move was to redesign and extend the bar to make service more efficient and increase the number of bartenders able to work per shift. We also significantly increased the number of covers by redesigning the seating plan inside and outside. We fitted a state of the art kitchen to increase speed of service and efficiency.

• We extended the bar and fitted additional stations to maximize wet led sales

• We added leather booth seating to maximize covers and guest comfort

• New lighting scheme made up of modern chandeliers, LEDs and dance floor lasers

• We sourced new tables for the outside seating area that increased covers by 40 per sitting.

• Material palette: Cement walls, black leather, warm wood tones, copper bar top, modern chandeliers and wall lights.

RESULTS...​

Once completed the space became a London party destination. The new website and re-brand attracted the ideal customer base and the owners were able to maximize advance bookings and private parties.

Revenue increased from 40k to 100k per week.

Type: Interior Design and Renovation

The Brief: The client had purchased a distressed flat on Battersea High Street that he wanted to turn into a luxury Airbnb.

​

• Damaged floor 

• Poor natural light throughout

• Distressed, out of date kitchen

• Out of date bathroom

• Lack of space

The flat suffered from extremely poor natural light but did have wonderfully high ceilings. We decided to cut a huge whole in the wall separating the bedroom and the lounge and construct a fabulous pair of custom made doors. This not only created an eye catching feature but flooded the space with natural light. We also built a mezzanine loft in the bedroom where we fit a double bed.​

Once completed the space became a popular Airbnb rental commanding above average rates for similar sized properties in the area.​​

Location: Crystal Palace, London

Type: Full brand and concept design, interior design and renovation

The brief: The client wanted to launch a fast food Korean streetfood brand in the UK. He needed a design concept, branding and full renovation of a site he had leased on Crystal Palace High Street.

• Demolish existing restaurant including the removal of a 750kg pizza oven. 

• Install new ventilation system across 2 floors

• Create a modern and stylish decor that also appealed to a fast food crowd

• New lighting scheme

• New kitchen design and installation

We wanted a design that was totally original but included elements of Korean culture and suited a street food brand. The owner was a big fan of the German Doner Kebab franchise so we used their orange and black colour scheme as an inspiration.

​The Brief: To refresh the interior of an established London wine bar.

​

We wanted a design reminiscent of a Parisian wine bar, something that gave the venue a fresh look whilst also looking lived in and welcoming.

Type: Interior Design Concept

The Brief: The client wanted to transform a 5 bedroom Victorian townhouse into a 10 bedroom apart-hotel. They wanted the decor to stand out among it's competitors.

KEY CHALLENGES​...

​

• Design 10 individual rooms and en-suites with distinct differences but with a common theme throughout

• Create a statement entrance/welcome hallway

• The client requested specialist wall finishes where appropriate

​

We settled on a colour palette that had a strong common theme in each room but that also worked well with certain colour accents. This created a cohesive interior that also felt eclectic. We also decided that each en-suite should be totally different.

We decided to lime wash the entrance hallway to add warmth and depth to the space.

Settle launched to rave reviews and outperformed projected occupancy in it's first year of business. It is still going strong.

Location: Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, USA

Type: Modernize 178 bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms with new Interior Design Concept and Procurement

The Brief: The client wanted to modernize the 178 guest rooms and en-suites at the hotel while maintaining elements of the original building. We were also responsible for FF&E for all the rooms and the lobby and procurement.

​

KEY CHALLENGES​...

​

• This was a huge project so sticking to the allocated budget per room was absolutely essential. 

• Procurement was impacted by unexpected tariffs. This also impacted delivery schedules so communication needed to be exceptional.

• The design needed to lift the rooms, whilst being functional and hard wearing.

• Sourcing local art that reflected the hotel surroundings and community
